Wailua Bay View Condos

Hello Wailua Bay View Visitors,

Some people ask if there is any traffic noise at the Wailua Bay View condos. Below is everything I'm aware of regarding traffic noise.

I photographed and have been in all of the units listed on www.wailuabayview.com.  I am also the owner and Webmaster of the Wailua Bay View website.

When I was photographing, what I remember hearing on the ocean side decks of these units was only the ocean. Traffic noise is primarily heard from the bedroom side of the first three units on each of the three floors (101-103, 201-203, 301-303). They are at the end of the building closest to the street. 

However, some owners have installed double windows in the bedrooms of these units (such as for sure units 201, 202, 302). Thus, insulating the bedroom from outside noise. If you look at the bedroom photos of these units (click to enlarge each), you'll see there is a white framed set of glass in front of the original louvered windows. I have not been at Wailua Bay View since 2005, when I moved from Kauai, so I am not aware of additional owners who may have installed sound windows. I will say that having been in the bedrooms of units with and without the second set of sound windows was that I was quite impressed with how much sound was blocked.

Please note that the units with air conditioning, which is most all of them, the A/C is located in the bedroom. If you sleep with the windows open and A/C on, you'll probably hear the A/C instead of traffic noise. Also please note that walkways and entry to each unit is on the bedroom side of each condo unit.
