Kapaa is the name of the town closest to Wailua Bay View. It has all the things travelers need: groceries, snacks, sports equipment, general shopping, and numerous restaurants. Behind Kapaa is Nounou Mountain, which has two hiking trails. Kapaa is also near the lower Wailua River, which offers canoeing and fishing.

Anini Beach Park and Kalapaki Beach are top windsurfing destinations on Kauai, and there is horseback riding available in the Hanalei Valley, the Haupu Valley, Mahaulepu Beach, and the Waimea Canyon. The Waimea Canyon also has a hiking trail, the Kukui Trail, which drops 2,000 feet into the canyon, with a swimming hole at the bottom.

Wailua Bay View unit #114, on the first floor, is complete with its own kitchen and washer/dryer, partial air conditioning, and tropical ceiling fans that allow the delicious sea breeze to float through.  This unit accommodates up to 2 guests, with one bedroom, one bathroom, and a queen-sized fold-out sofa. The private lanai is furnished with deck furniture so guests can make the most of the sights and sounds of the ocean.
